As part of community outreach, members of the Gopher Hockey Cheer Team took place in Special Olympics Minnesota's "Polar Plunge". Participants jump into 4 feet of very cold water - all in the name of good fun and charity. With the sun out and the temperature around 35 it was a perfect day for this event. I spend a lot of time covering events above the ice, so I was fun to go out and shoot an event that "breaks the ice." Since the camera shoots up to 8 frames per second, I just let it fly for the leap.
